Widget Mania at Obopay!

A new year means new things and I’m very excited about Obopay’s new online widgets! You can add these widgets to your websites, blogs, social networking sites and more. It’s basically the best of both worlds: you get the functionality of mobile money transfer from person to person while still being online.
Here’s what you can do with each of the three widgets:
GIFTS
People can send you gifts! (See widget pictured above.) It’s very easy to set-up: just type in your mobile number, the amount (optional, let friends determine what they want to send you, if you like) and a message. This widget is great for the holidays or anytime of the year when gifts are forthcoming — especially those occasions when cash gifts are particularly appropriate, like graduations, birthdays and weddings.
DONATIONS
People can donate to your cause! This widget is as easy to set up as the gift one. Have a grassroots fundraising movement you’re talking about on Twitter? A charity? Raising money for a school program? This is just one more way people can donate quickly and easily. And what’s more, it’s totally green — no paper needed.
PAYMENTS
People can pay you directly online! Do you sell items on a website? This is one way your visitors can pay you without having ever to write a single check. And you’ll have peace of mind knowing the money goes instantly to your Obopay account.
ARE YOU A BLOGGER?
You can use the gifts widget to receive funds from readers on your blog. If you spend a lot of time working on your blog and your readers spend a lot of time reading it, here’s one way they can say “thank you” for your efforts with a cash gift.
WHY WIDGET?
If you’re like me, maybe you spend a lot of time at your computer and don’t always want to use your phone. These widgets are great way to enjoy the convenience of Obopay right from your desktop.

Wow, I got all excited when I first found out about the Obopay widget. Since I am already an Obopay member the Payment widget would be great on my website. My excitement was really prefaced on the thought that the widget would work for my Mobile website I am working on. Short-lived excitement. I thought it would give cell phone users a fast means of making a payment, something like the widget MPAYY has. With them you Login, click on ‘get widget’ fill in item name, price and copy the code. You paste the code on your mobile site’s webpage where you want to sell an item. The cell phone user that browse’s the internet just clicks once to make the payment to my MPAYY account. No difficulty for the seller or the buyer. However, with this Obopay widget it is good only for regular HTML websites, not Xhtml MP 1.0. It is no more than a large ‘ Buy Now’ button. I sure would like a Obopay widget like MPAYY’s. Mike

When can we get more widgets?
I’d really like to see one like a “Buy it Now” button, that hides my phone number to online shoppers and lets me enter the price!
