Mobile payments now make it easy to park your car
June 22nd, 2009
Coming soon to the U.S? In the U.K., people can now use mobile phones to pay for parking. Drivers parking in the town’s council-owned car parks can now use the “RingGo” system, which went live yesterday. After parking, drivers dial a local rate number which is shown on signs and payment machines around parking lots. They provide the location code also shown on signs, a license number and the length of time they want to park. Payment is then taken from the driver’s debit or credit card. At Obopay we’re excited about the countless other ways this kind of “pay as you go” idea will become part of our daily lives.
