Mobile marketing news: Ace Hardware has huge holiday sale campaign success; Best Buy to sell apps

People who viewed a mobile campaign in the week leading up to Memorial Day were 30% more likely to have visited an Ace store than nonviewers, according to mobile ad provider Mobile Posse. Customers receiving this message opted-in to receive content such as weather, local gas prices, and trivia, along with discounts and special offers from retailers, restaurants, and other local businesses.
Best Buy is getting into the iPhone app game with a “Best Buy Weekly Deals” mobile app, which will be available through Apple’s App Store.
