In recession, price beats network quality

In Nielsen’s monthly survey of 25,000 mobile users first quarter of this year, one trend that emerged this year was that people had begun to pushed aside network quality in favor of saving money. The second factor was the availability of a family plan, and third was the availability of prepaid options. “The number of people citing the availability of a specific phone did increase from 2.9 percent in 2006 to 6.4 percent this winter. But in both surveys, the issue was only the seventh-most important factor.”
