I’ve built up a balance in excess of $1,000 in my obopay account anticipating using it whenever mobile payments were the best fit. I’ve used my obopay master card a few times for restaurants and such, no problem, but over Christmas I attempted to use my iPhone obopay app to send money as payments — so far no one has received a text message to accept. I then sent my own cellphone a payment, never got a notice to accept. I’ve called obopay over a dozen times with no human to take my call, then left a number of voice mails for them. Over the course of time I’ve written support at obopay as well, giving details of my issue but no human has responsed. I’m not sure if all my intended payees use prepaid phones but some do, including myself, I use TracFone — but regardless if the issue is prepaid phones can’t accept obopay payments why would the founder tout as her inspiration for creating obopay the wide spread use of prepaid cell phones in Africa. What gives obopay, why can’t I use my mobile pay and why can’t obopay call me back to explain why.

Many of us had seen before what Ms Carol had seen in Africa on the payment cycle. But moving it electronically and thro mobile devices is what she achieved and it’s remarkable. Congrtas to Ms Carol Realini.
