This is interesting. Speck, one of the biggest online case sellers for phones and laptops, has a whole bunch of iPhone cases on a 50% off sale. Now, obviously, we aren’t advertising or selling iPhone cases here so I am not just trying to give them a free plug. But if you think about it, the iPhone is hot. People are buying them hand over fist. Why would they try to get rid of all the cases?
Of course, I am just reading between the lines here, but could this mean that the new iPhone (as in the 3G iphone) might have a different size as the current one? Or the other possibility is that they are just overstocked on these right now, which could also translate to Apple slowly down sales of the current model and the new one is coming out very soon.
Just making an educated guess…

I have to add onto my previous entry.
Going back to the big $10 million prize money that we talked about before on our own blog as well as the Google blog, the Locale group actually won $25,000 and is one of the finalists of the big grand prize!
This also totally reminds me of how Google got started. Larry Page and Sergey Brin were both Stanford students at that time. Google was their Ph.D project. One thing let to another, and now you have… Google!
Pretty amazing. I am very curious in seeing how all this will pan out.

Not sure if this is fact of fiction. Given that it’s written on a whole bunch of blogs, I would say it’s probably about 75% true. Regardless, the rumor is that Blackberry is finally coming out with a touchscreen phone!
As reported here, the Blackberry 9500, also known as the Blackberry Thunder, is going to be exclusive on Verizon (in the US at least) for once! I guess it’s only fair. Blackberry did announce yesterday that they are releasing the Blackberry 9000, or Blackberry Bold, on the AT&T network.
Verizon Thunder? That sounds like a pretty good Verizon phone name. Kind of fit in with the Verizon Voyager or the Verizon Chocolate. Whether or not this can truly fight with the iPhone remains to be seen, but I do know that Blackberry makes some nice phones. My Verizon friends, your dream might soon become a reality!

Adding onto the previous Octopus card entry, there are schools out there that actually make their students sign in with their Octopus Card! I was able to translate the sign below with some help. It says, “Students, please use your Octopus Card to sign in. If you forgot to bring your card, you can register in the office.” This picture is taken from some school in Hong Kong supposedly. I guess this is just another example of how technology impacts our daily lives.

Think about it though. If the card becomes integrated into your cell phone, then that’d be even better! Maybe we will get there someday.

The Guinness World Records named the Modu phone as the lightest cell phone in the world. At just 1.5 ounces and 2.8 by 1.4 by 0.3 inches, the Modu is a full ounce lighter than the already miniature Pantech C300. Without a doubt, it’s the tiniest cell phone I’ve seen outside of Zoolander.

Need more unsubstantiated evidence that the 3G iPhone is near. Good, the Chinese language Commercial Times is quoting sources claiming that Foxconn — the maker of the 1st gen iphone — is ramping up 3G iPhone assembly by “the end of May” to ship 3 million units in June.
