I was out at lunch today and saw that another sign that mobile payments is becoming more popular, which is great since mobile payment is obviously the core of Obopay. Anyway, I took a picture of it:

I am surprised that paying for parking with your phone is not a bigger deal here in the Bay Area. I mean, if you have been to (or live in) the Bay Area should know how much we end up spending on parking meters, especially in San Francisco. It’s such a hassle finding coins to feed the meter too.
This paying by phone thing is great. I read somewhere a while back that they were trying to implement this for BART too. Not sure how that’s going, but can you imagine if you can just swipe your phone across the subway in New York? That’d be awesome!

If you are not a believer in this whole mobile payment thing, perhaps this will change your mind. Amazon, the biggest online shopping portal, just announced that you can now buy things by SMS. You can read the article here.
Actually, Amazon has the whole diagram on their website. You can click on the diagram to see the bigger version:

Our team here at Obopay have been working really hard to set up an official Obopay blog. So here we are, our official entry #1. Cheers!
Given the boom in the mobile payment industry and the exponential growth in our company, we realized that there are just so much we can talk about. And really… what’s a better way to keep everyone informed than to hear it straight from the source, thus introducing blog.obopay.com.
So again, welcome to our new blog. We see great things happening here. We are going to cover all of our new features, as well as other things in our industry that are popping up.
Oh and before I forget, please feel free to comment on anything. I know people throw this phrase out all the time, but we would REALLY love to hear from you!
